  I ran into an active JW...surprised

  so as you all know, i have fully faded...i'm completely out and have not told the elders or da myself...just faded 100%.... so i run into an active jw, different congregation, and as i walk past him i say, "hey so and so, how are you doing?

  "....he looks down, doesnt dare look at me in the eyeball and keeps walking...then a split second later he turns around and says, hey man, aren't yuo disfellowshipped?....

  i was like wtf?...lol, i said "not that i know of"...i asked him who told him such thing?...he wouldnt tell me who, but he had "heard"...so i just left it at that and told him if he wants to know then to contact my ex-elders.... my thing is, could the elders have df'ed me without me knowing it?...i have not been accused of their so called "apostasy", nor have i received a letter requesting info or to set up a meeting, nor a call...the coordinating elder (formally president/presiding overseer) still texts me all the time saying hi etc...no religious texts or anything like that).

  What would the JWs say if everybody in the World shunned them they would claim persecution right well that's just what they are doing to all their ex members who no longer agree with their nonsense . Shunning is a way of keeping the rank and file in line and woe betide any member thinking of becoming a whistle blower it would cause the Governing Body to throw their toys right out of their collective prams.

  Tell them straight that they are going to grow old and die just like everybody else on planet Earth. I was right in 1965 they were wrong when I told the so called elders the same thing and sure enough most of them have gone now or are on the way out . If anyone wants to shun you tell them to grow up and get a life and do something useful.

  every day.. when there is nothing left to say.....it is over.. it could end up being a book nobody will every read.

  Brilliant Terry you should get it published. A shiver went down my spine when you mentioned the book Make Sure Of All Things I remember the thin cigarette paper it was printed on and each time I had my doubts or tried to prove the Watchtower wrong I would study it and could not for the life of me prove it wrong with it's persuasive arguments until I learned to counteract it of course.

  You brought all the memories back the warnings of not to engage in heavy petting and the guilty feelings of not going out on the work door to door work trying to get Watchtower subscriptions just to cover the cost of the printing of course so much craziness. I was young and gullible I even hoped Elvis would make it through Armageddon don't know if I expected him to be singing in the New World but I was dead miffed when an elderly sister said there will be none of that pop music after the mass destruction. I remember the record Kathy's Clown by the Everly Brothers always seemed to be playing somewhere in the background when I first started studying the publications and for years after every time I heard that song I would feel panicky it's strange the effects that a cult can have on the mind.

  if you have influenza you shouldn't be going door to door deliberately infecting others.. if you have a screwy false idea keep it to yourself don't teach it to your kids.. if you think you have the only true religion--but--your religion keeps changing their "truth" maybe you should get a clue!.

  I agree totally the Watchtower book publishers have been doing for decades what some rogues have been doing lately in Europe flogging something which isn't what it says on the label. I am referring to the selling of horse meat as beef.

  The brothers in Brooklyn have been serving up horse instead of beef and telling us it will be good for us in the form of the Watchtower and Awake.

  it's only a rumor.

  but we all know that sometimes rumors become a reality.. supposedly the public watchtower and awake magazines will be combined together and the two shall become one.. i wonder if the present 16 page "rags" are becoming an embarrassment.

  It's going to become eventually the flagship for an internet cult. The Watchtower on line guarding you from reality. The Borg. has been living in la la land for so long it might as well go all the way .

  It will be re-named Voyager The Next Generation heading for the final, final , final frontier staying on guard in cyber space to go where no man has gone before.

  The GB will become known as the crew of the Starship or maybe Bullship.

  surely most of you have had this experience at least once .

  you start a topic / thread and before you know it somebody has taken it way off on another tangent, completely away from your original topic , and evrybody has gone down that path .and you come back and think wtf ?

  Yes I agree was it a sudden fall or a protracted event .Did the all knowing all powerful lord God not see it coming .Why was it he didn't nip it in the bud. Maybe he left it all up to Adam's discretion ?

  And another thing what is the significance of the weather report in Eden didn't God pay them a visit during the breezy part of the day I seem to remember reading that in Genesis. I mean how breezy does it have to get before you need to put some clothes on ?

  Was it just a gentle breeze or a "you had better tie that down breeze!"
